Back to Portland

It was back to Portland this weekend (yes, that's two weekends in a row) to celebrate my good friend Samuel's second birthday at an awesome pool and waterpark.

Mom introduced me to two things today that I am quite a fan of: homemade popsicles and finger painting. Here are some shots of the later.

It was another busy weekend!

For the love of planes

I've been pretty excited about airplanes since I started noticing them a couple of months ago, so I could not have been happier that my cousin Kelly decided to get married at a little airport in Portland. We watched the planes take off and land all evening, and I got to look at them up close! But the best one was the one that I got to ride in and steer all by myself.

Here's my first public father-daughter dance.

Strawberries

Mommy planted a bunch of strawberries in the backyard. Thankfully they are in baskets at ground level. Not many of the berries seem to make it into the house? I'll have mommy believe it is all the birds that frequently visit our backyard, although I am a bit concerned that the juicy-red evidence around my mouth might be a give away.

iPad tutorial

Audrey is a big fan of the iPad, and a quick learner.

Here she is doing her ab crunch work out to her favorite sesame street video, a song by Jason Mraz, featuring Elmo, extolling the virtues of playing outdoors. She sings along. This is set to the same tune as"I'm Yours" which is the song we frequently sang to Audrey in-utero.

When the video stalls, Audrey knows just what to do. Close the app, open youtube, then click on the screen pull up the keyboard. We are still working on typing though!

Enjoy.

Futbol Fever

I began playing on my own soccer team in June - the Little Kickers. We practice every Saturday. I am the only kid to score a goal in three weeks . . . must be my German heritage. If you've watched any of the World Cup you know Germany rocks at soccer.

Speaking of the World Cup, mommy and I haven't seen much of daddy on Friday, Saturday or Sunday mornings the past three weeks. Daddy rarely watches sports, but this is an exception, he watches all the time. When USA scored the winning goal against Algeria, I kept saying "uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh" because I thought something was really wrong with dada, mommy said it was just temporary insanity. Daddy got three of the final four correct in his bracket (Uruguay, Netherlands and Spain), ironically the one he missed was Germany!

Here's a few of me in action and in my jersey.

PS - yes the Little Kickers coach will probably be giving me the No. 10 jersey soon!!!

Whound n Whound

I have been super excited about buses lately. So much so, that mommy had her first conversation with me about using my "inside voice" on a recent car trip down I-5 during peak commute time. Here's an ode to my love of buses.
